Art commission in connection with infant baptisms. Tinn Kirke.

Although I am quite spiritual, I am neither a religious person nor a member of the local church, so I was a little surprised when my local church first approached me in 2022. When it comes to humanitarian values however, and the importance of local community, our values are aligned.

In 2022 I was commissioned by The Norwegian Church in Tinn Kommune - Den Norske Kirke, Tinn Kirkelige Fellesråd - to make a series of 40 small original paintings, all similar in their essence, while - just like children - all are unique within themselves. These paintings form an ever changing installation in the churches In Tinn. When a child gets baptised they receive a painting, which then hangs in their church for a year, before being given to the child to take home during a new service.

On the 14th of Febuary this year (2024), I am happy to announce that the project will continue. I have been commissioned to make a further 20.

As a general rule I do not discount my art, I was however happy to produce these small paintings for the church / children in my local town on community art project principles rather than commercial rates.
